Blast hits Afghan capital Kabul near contractor's compound

KABUL (Reuters) - A large explosion hit Kabul on Monday, hours after a suicide bomber blew himself up near a police checkpoint in the Afghan capital, Reuters reporters heard.

A police official said the blast appeared to come from a vehicle bomb near a compound for contractors close to the airport. There were no immediate details of damage or casualties.
