Lawmakers release "base text" for regulatory bill


    WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A House of Representatives panel on Thursday released the text of a bill that will provide the basis for negotiations on regulatory reform between U.S. House and Senate lawmakers.

    Staff aides have said the bill to revamp financial rules passed by the Senate last month would provide the basis for the talks, which formally kick off on Thursday, although some "technical corrections" would be made.

    The "base text" was posted by the House Financial Services Committee.
