ADVISORY-China quake lake story withdrawn

The China story headlined "Thousands flee to hills as China lake banks burst" is wrong and is withdrawn.

While people in the immediate vicinity of the lake havebeen told to evacuate, the banks still appear to be holding.

A corrected story follows:

BEIJING (Reuters) - Thousands fled amid fears a lake wouldburst its banks in Beichuan, near the epicentre of China'searthquake in which a total 50,000 people may have died, aReuters photographer said.

It was not immediately clear if anyone was hurt. Peoplewere told to flee to the hillsides in a public announcement.
