* KABUL - A service member from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) was killed in an insurgent attack in southern Afghanistan, ISAF said in a statement. It gave no other details.
* TAKHAR - Twelve people were killed and 80 wounded in violent protests over the killing of two men and two women in a NATO-led night-time raid in the northern Takhar province, the senior provincial health official said. Local officials said the four killed in the overnight raid by NATO and Afghan troops were civilians. ISAF said those killed were armed insurgents.
PAKTIKA - Fifteen insurgents were killed during operations by Afghan and ISAF troops in southeastern Paktika province on Tuesday, said Mukhlis Afghan, spokesman for the provincial governor.
