Germany not planning to hit Saudis with sanctions after executions

BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany is not planning to impose any sanctions on Saudi Arabia after the kingdom's mass execution of 47 people on Saturday, a foreign ministry spokesman said on Monday.

Ministry spokesman Martin Schaefer told a news conference that Germany opposed the death penalty, but added: "I am unaware of any government plans at the moment to impose sanctions for this reason."
