Explosion, gunfire heard in Kabul - Reuters witness, police


    KABUL (Reuters) - An explosion and sustained gunfire resounded in an upscale residential neighbourhood in the south of the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday and police said insurgents had made their way inside a building.

    "Some insurgents have entered a building. Their target is not clear yet," said Hashmat Stanikzai, a spokesman for the Kabul police chief.
