Five killed in Sydney Harbour boat collision



    SYDNEY (Reuters) - Five people were killed and nine injured when two boats collided in Sydney Harbour early on Thursday, Australian media reported.

    The accident occurred at about 2:25 a.m. (5:25 p.m. Britishtime on Wednesday) when a small cabin cruiser and a trawlercollided near Bradley's Point, the Australian Associated Pressnews agency said.

    It quoted a police officer as saying all the victimsappeared to be from the cruiser. The nine injured, three ofwhom were in critical condition, were taken to hospital.

    The injured, eight men and one woman, were aged between 18and 31, a spokeswoman for the Royal North Shore Hospital toldABC Radio.
