Stock futures cut losses after housing data

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Stock index futures pared losses on Tuesday following a report that showed a surprise jump in housing starts for February.

S&P 500 futures were down 0.50 point and were above fair value, a formula to evaluate pricing by taking into account interest rates, dividends and time to expiration on the contract. Dow Jones industrial average futures were down 14 points, and Nasdaq 100 futures edged up 2.50 points.
