U.S. crude futures settle higher after holiday

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil futures settled higher on Friday in a light-volume rally as OPEC's UAE cutting output and the dollar's weakness versus the euro helped lift crude futures after they plummeted 9.31 percent on Wednesday.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, February crude rose $2.36, or 6.68 percent, to settle at $37.71 a barrel, trading from $35.60 to $37.91.
