U.S. crude futures up $2 after pre-holiday swoon

NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. crude oil futures rose more than $2 on Friday in a light-volumed rally as OPEC's UAE cutting output and the dollar's weakness versus the euro helped lift crude futures after they fell 9.31 percent on Wednesday.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange at 1:28 p.m. EST, February crude was up $1.89, or 5.35 percent, at $37.24 a barrel, trading from $35.60 to $37.64.
