Oil deepens slump to $3, demand feared hit

SINGAPORE (Reuters) - U.S. oil prices deepened early losses to more than $3 a barrel on Monday, nearing their lowest since February as traders feared that efforts to end the credit crisis would fail to prevent further a deeper economic slow-down.

U.S. light, sweet crude for November fell $3.02 or 3.2 percent to $90.86 a barrel by 2:38 a.m. EDT, drifting near the $90.51 low from mid-September, the lowest since February.
