BP's Hayward downplays charge he's stonewalliing

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - BP Chief Executive Tony Hayward downplayed charges from one U.S. lawmaker that he was stonewalling in answering questions on the investigation of the well accident in the Gulf of Mexico.

"I'm amazed at this testimony, Mr. Hayward," Rep. Henry Waxman, a California Democrat told Hayward. "You are not taking responsibility. You are kicking the can down the road."

Hayward said he was "not prepared to draw conclusions until investigation is completed."

    "I'm not stonewalling," he said.
