AFP Wins 18 Photography Awards in 2006

AFP photographers won 18 awards in 2006, including the prestigious
Picture of the Year award and the Bayeux War Correspondents award.

With award winning photographers working from the world's
hotspots, such as Ali Yussef in Iraq and Jaafar Ashtiyeh in the West
Bank, the agency provides customers with unparalleled coverage of
breaking news.

The photo service produces 2 to 3,000 pictures daily, distributed
worldwide using the most advanced communication methods.

AFP Photo supplies images of news, finance, sports and
entertainment in real time. Its 200 staff photographers are backed up
by AFP bureaus in 165 countries as well as by a network of stringers.
AFP also has one of the largest picture libraries in the world - six
million images accumulated since 1930 which may be accessed
electronically.

Through its online image database, ImageForum, AFP also provides
