Nasdaq falls on tech, consumer discretionary



    NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq fell on Monday as consumer discretionary and technology companies' shares slid and investors' concerns remain about weakness in the economy.

    The Dow Jones industrial average gained 9.46 points, or 0.08 percent, to 12,605.21. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index dropped 0.72 point, or 0.05 percent, to 1,337.05. The Nasdaq Composite Index dropped 23.12 points, or 0.82 percent, to 2,805.35.
