Capricode has today announced SyncShield(R) mobile device
management 3.1 client for Windows Mobile 5.0 devices. The extensive
SyncShield device support also includes clients for the forthcoming
Windows Mobile 6 devices as well as for Symbian 2nd and 3rd generation
smartphones. These include Samsung's new mobile phones.

In addition to mobile device security and applications management,
SyncShield handles enhanced settings management of mobile devices.
Efficient, over-the-air device management has proven to be a crucial
aid for organisations. A topical example of this is the control of
business travellers' high data roaming costs. With the help of
SyncShield it is easy to remotely disable automatic email
synchronisation while travelling for example, one of the main sources
of high device usage costs.

SyncShield enables central, over-the-air configuration and
administration of settings such as Internet Access Points, Email,
VoIP, WLAN/WiFi, Instant Messaging, and Push-to-Talk. All settings can
be provisioned regardless of the location of the employee. To be
exact, SyncShield requires no end user involvement in device
management operations, in this way freeing the end-users of the burden
of device configuration and maintenance.
