For those users syncing their contacts to Outlook, gwabbit’s automated capture keeps contacts updated globally. A simple mobile download, gwabbit for Blackberry will be available at the end of May for an annual subscription of $9.95. Whether you are a sales person, real estate agent, lawyer, addicted networker, or tech savvy traveler, gwabbit brings together simple, automated contact management at a price point that won’t hurt your wallet. Demonstrations of gwabbit can be seen at WES 2009 in Orlando, Florida at Demo Pod #321, May 4 – 7.
“The key to gwabbit’s success is in its simplicity. It just works and works well,” said Carla Thompson, Senior Analyst at Guidewire Group. “The addition of gwabbit for BlackBerry takes this product to a new level by really addressing the problem at its source. As gwabbit extends to more platforms, you can begin to see that this is a must-have product for anyone managing more than one contact.”
gwabbit for BlackBerry follows closely on the heels of the hugely successful gwabbit for Outlook, which debuted at the DEMO 09 conference in February. gwabbit for Outlook automatically identifies signatures in incoming email and creates new contacts on your desktop. gwabbit for Outlook is available for a single, one-time fee of $19.95. The two products together deliver complete email contact management for any professional on the road or at the desk.
“At gwabbit, we understand that the most important information we have on our electronic devices is the contact information embedded in emails and social networks,” said Todd Miller Technicopia President and Founder. “Our mission is to cultivate what we call the contact cloud – contact information that lies within the collective of devices, applications, documents and networks – anywhere it lives. gwabbit for Outlook and Blackberry support this mission with simple to use contact management solutions at an affordable price point.”
gwabbit for Blackberry and gwabbit for Outlook streamline the management of new relationships, allowing users to efficiently maintain a current address book without the time-consuming chore of cutting and pasting. gwabbit’s intuitive ability to scan and filter new content significantly improves the user experience by presenting a prompt, not only when a new contact is available, but also when a new signature file conflicts with current contact information. This speedy solution saves hundreds of hours per year for busy executives, salespeople, marketers and others who must track hundreds, if not thousands, of contacts to more efficiently utilize communication techniques and expand business networking.
Pricing
gwabbit for Blackberry downloads in less than a minute and will be available May 25 for only $9.95 annually from Blackberry App World on your mobile phone. gwabbit for Outlook can be purchased online at www.gwabbit.com for a one-time fee of $19.95.
Delivers an easy-to-use, end-to-end security solution for mobile voice calls
Wireless Enterprise Symposium, Orlando, Florida: – May 5th 2009: Cellcrypt (www.cellcrypt.com), the leading provider of secure mobile voice calling, today announced that Cellcrypt Mobile is available now for BlackBerry® smartphones.
Cellcrypt Mobile introduces end-to-end real-time encryption to prevent private conversations from being compromised, enabling individuals within corporations and governments to converse in a highly secure manner without the need for specialised equipment or the expense of new infrastructure.
“Business users routinely protect their valuable documents and data using encryption technologies,” said Simon Bransfield-Garth, CEO of Cellcrypt. “But they have not previously been able to place that same level of protection on their mobile voice calls. Now, with Cellcrypt Mobile they can.”
“More and more enterprises are following the lead of Government agencies in seeking ways to securely protect voice calls,” continued Simon Bransfield-Garth. “Enterprises in particular understand that certain mobile voice conversations are susceptible to interception, especially if those calls contain high-value information or take place in high-risk regions.”
Cellcrypt uses the latest Internet technology to provide unmatched voice call quality, international calling capability, high reliability across wireless networks and real-time encryption to levels specified by the US government. Cellcrypt technology is currently undergoing certification to the FIPS 140-2 standard approved by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and operates on all major wireless networks including 2G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE), 3G (HSPA, CDMA/EV-DO) and Wi-Fi® networks.
“Voice is the last unsecured data service,” commented Jeremy Green, Practice Leader Mobile, at industry analyst Ovum. “Security of mobile devices is a hot topic in the industry, and up until now, high security voice calling has only been available using specialized military-specification equipment, but solutions from companies such as Cellcrypt make this easily accessible to all.”
Cellcrypt operates with an easy-to-use interface on commercially available BlackBerry smartphones and does not require specialized equipment. Cellcrypt users will be able to benefit from the end-to-end security of their mobile voice calls, along with all the features of their BlackBerry smartphone.
Cellcrypt recently announced that it has opened a US office in Palo Alto, California to meet the growing demand for encrypted voice solutions from its North American customers.
Cellcrypt will be demonstrating Cellcrypt Mobile for BlackBerry live in the Solutions Showcase at Wireless Enterprise Symposium, Orlando 5th – 7th May 2009.

Real-time content delivery builds value into mobile applications for consumers
WATERLOO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – May 4, 2009) – Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ:RIMM)(TSX:RIM) today announced the availability of a new BlackBerry push API (application programming interface) that will enable developers to push real-time content to BlackBerry smartphones.
RIM is extending its existing, well-proven push technology from the enterprise into the consumer space, allowing developers to leverage push technology for BlackBerry applications targeted at consumers. Push technology provides a proactive mechanism for developers to deliver data to BlackBerry smartphones as it becomes available. It brings immediacy to mobile communications with real-time content, preserves battery life, and minimizes data usage by eliminating the need for “poking” and “polling” servers. RIM’s unique push technology significantly enhances the user experience and provides a proactive mechanism for developers to deliver data to BlackBerry smartphones as the data becomes available.
“Push technology has previously been available to corporate developers with the BlackBerry Enterprise Solution, and is built into a range of smartphone applications for business,” said Alan Brenner, Senior Vice President, BlackBerry Platforms at Research In Motion. “With the availability of this push API, BlackBerry developers can build true push technology into their Java-based consumer applications and enhance the user experience by delivering valuable content to users in real time.”
The new BlackBerry push API allows developers to push content, as well as alerts, to BlackBerry smartphone users. Users will not have to wait for lengthy content downloads once alerts are received.
Push APIs for browser content are the foundation of the BlackBerry Web Signals service launched by RIM in October 2008. (http://press.rim.com/release.jsp?id=1870.) BlackBerry Web Signals technology enables online content providers to push alerts to BlackBerry smartphone users when relevant content has been published or updated and supports one-click access from an icon to the online information.
The BlackBerry push API is ideal for mobile applications that deliver value by providing real-time content and updates, including news, weather, banking, medical, IT services applications and games. Several organizations are already developing applications with the BlackBerry push API, including:
- DevelopIQ – The 7digital Music Store allows users to browse, search, discover and purchase high quality, DRM-free MP3 music from their BlackBerry smartphones. Purchases made on the move are automatically replaced with high quality versions when the user returns home via Wi-Fi Auto-Sync. The 7digital Music Store will use the BlackBerry push API to ensure that purchases the user makes on 7digitial.com are automatically delivered to their BlackBerry smartphone.
- Handmark – With the new BlackBerry push API technology, the Pocket Express news and information service from Handmark can alert customers of breaking news, sports stats, weather alerts, flight status updates and other information immediately as it happens. This offers a more timely, relevant and engaging experience for customers.
- Salesplace – SalesNOW will leverage the BlackBerry push API to give customers the ability to send immediate notifications, such as sales leads, service requests, client calls and appointments, to sales and service reps in the field.
- The Hockey News – Powered by Polar Mobile, The Hockey News application gives fans real-time score updates, late-breaking news headlines, player statistics, team standings and expert analysis from across the NHL. The Hockey News will leverage the BlackBerry push API to keep fans up to date with the latest scores sent directly to their BlackBerry smartphones.
The BlackBerry push API is available exclusively to BlackBerry Alliance Program members. For more information about the BlackBerry Alliance Program, visit www.blackberry.com/go/alliances.
