WeBot adds video support, delivers complete media access for mobile devices at CES

08 ene 2008 - 19:43 por .

WeBot, a service that lets users play personal media from their computers anywhere on the Internet, today announced the addition of video to the service. The company launched its new functionality on the Nokia N810 Internet Tablet at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8 – “This release continues WeBot’s vision of what we call Unlimited Media: Any content, from anywhere, in any format, to any device,” said David Gottesman, WeBot’s CEO. “The Nokia Internet Tablet is a great example of how cutting-edge mobile technology and innovative services can work together to deliver outstanding consumer experiences.”

For the launch of the video functionality, WeBot created a custom-built interface that showcases the Nokia Internet Tablet’s advanced features. The new video capabilities integrate with existing music, playlist, and photo album support.

“There has been an explosion of personal content in the past three years, but the industry hasn’t kept up with adoption,” said Christopher Amen-Kroeger, WeBot’s CTO. “As a result, we have islands of media — songs, videos, pictures — scattered across multiple machines, disorganized, and uncontrolled. WeBot was started in order to fix this problem.”
